Grant User Permissions
User permissions can be granted through the Domain tool or the Users tool.
Grant user permissions using the Domain tool
- Select Domain from the Main Menu. Permissions can also be granted with the Users tool.
- Select the Permissions tab. Then select Grant (plus sign) button in the toolbar.
- Enter the user's name in the User field. Pearson Connexus automatically searches the current domain. To search all domains or browse through the accessible users, select the list (browse) icon to the right of the User field.
- Open the Role dropdown menu to grant permissions by role. When you select a role, the associated permission checkboxes are automatically selected.
- To create a custom role, check the boxes next to the permissions to include.
- Select Grant.

Grant Permissions using the Users tool
To manage a user's individual domain permissions:
- From the Main Menu, open the Users tool.
- Select the User ID for the desired user.
- Open the Domain Permissions screen, then select Grant [plus sign] button in the toolbar.
- Follow steps 4-6 above.

Manage Existing Permissions
The Domain tool can be used to manage and import permissions:
- To remove permissions, check the user's box on the Domain tool Permissions tab. Then select Revoke from the More menu. To revoke multiple users' permissions at once, check all desired boxes before selecting Revoke.
- To import permissions using a tab-delimited or comma-separated file on the Domain tool Permissions tab, select Import from the More menu and browse to the file on the computer.
- The three fields needed are:
- Action: always set to Edit
- User ID
- Role ID: locate the Role ID by navigating to roles on your Homepage and copying the correct ID. Review the video Locating Role IDs for more information on how to locate role IDs.
