The Attendance Report allows administrators to track student attendance by activities completed or time spent in each course over custom date ranges, viewable daily, weekly, or for the entire range. Users can set thresholds for minimum activities or time, choose if students must meet both or either, and customize the report to show IDs or activity details. Reports can be reviewed in Pearson Connexus or downloaded as CSV files for further analysis.
Access the Report and Define the Data
- From the Main Menu, select Attendance Report.
Within the report, you can select to:
- Verify current domain or change to view a different domain (pencil icon). The report automatically defaults to the domain you are in when the report is opened.
- Select to view attendance by:
- Entire range (one result for the whole span)
- Weekly (one column per full week from your start date)
- Daily (one column per selected weekday)
- Provide a start and end date for the attendance data.
- If you chose Weekly, read the hint under the dates. The tool may shift the end date forward to cover only whole weeks.
- If you chose Daily, use Days to evaluate to tick Sun–Sat. If you leave them all unchecked, the tool uses Monday–Friday.
- Enter thresholds for attendance (at least one is required):
- Minimum activities (both gradable and non-gradable) completed
- Minimum time spent (minutes) (active course time on an activity)
- If both thresholds are set, you can select if:
- Student must meet both
- Student may meet either
- Generate the report to analyze attendance for the settings selected.
View the Report
There are two options for viewing report data after it is generated:
- Review attendance data within Pearson Connexus.
- Download the report as a CSV file to analyze further in Excel.
Note: A negative number under "activity details" indicates that there are fewer activities than last time which is the result of graded activities being deleted from the course.
Customize the Report- Optional
- Select Show IDs to display Enrollment IDs, User IDs, and Course IDs.
- Select Show activity details (counts per date range) to display attendance details for activities and minutes completed during the date range specified.
Note: Choosing one or both options will update the data shown in the Pearson Connexus view and when downloading the CSV report.
Help
Selecting Help will display instructions for running the report as well as important notes regarding the data being displayed.
