Feedback Templates
Users can create or edit feedback templates with:
- the Activity Grader and the Grade Editor: In these tools, you manage them in the right panel under Insert Template in the Feedback (Visible to Student) section.
- The Needs grading screen: On this screen, you select the Feedback templates icon in the toolbar or Edit Templates from the Feedback area of the screen.
Tip: Use the Feedback templates icon to create templates before any activities have been submitted.
Edit templates using the Edit templates icon (in the header toolbar of the Needs Grading Tool)
- Select the Edit templates icon.
- Select an existing template from the window that appears.
- The selected template appears in the text editor where you can make one-time changes prior to using.
Edit templates from the Feedback area of the Grade Editor
- Select Edit Templates from the Feedback are of the Grade Editor.
- Select an existing template from the window that appears.
- The selected template appears in the text editor where you can make one-time changes prior to using.
Note: These instructions also apply to the Private Note (Hidden from Student) section; this content displays only to the teacher user.
Create New Templates
- Select Edit Templates from the feedback area of the grade editor or use the Edit Templates icon in the Needs Grading tool.
- Select Create Template to add a new feedback template. You can also create groups to organize your templates.
- Provide a title.
- Chose a group if desired.
- Create feedback content with the rich text editor using text, images, audio/video or replacement variables.
- Select Done.
Replacement Variables
Replacement variables allow the user to easily personalize feedback using templates.
Place variable codes (outlined in the table below) between dollar signs ($) in the feedback.
Pearson Connexus automatically replaces the variables with dynamic values drawn from user information when the feedback is delivered to the student.
Only the variables below are available in feedback.
Remember, the variable codes must be set between dollar signs ($) to be activated. For example, $ENROLLMENTFIRST$ (see above).
