SAML authentication can be used to establish a secure single sign-on (SSO) connection between Pearson Connexus and ClassLink.
Step One In ClassLink
(School Admin) If the school would like to set up SSO through ClassLink, you can find directions for setting up SAML SSO on ClassLink’s help desk site at https://help.classlink.com/s/article/SAML-Console.
Please ensure that your school has an account with ClassLink to access the article.
For any difficulties in setting up the SAML SSO, schools can reach out to ClassLink at helpdesk@classlink.com.
Additionally, schools will need to provide a Pearson technical support contact. You can add the Pearson Platform Manager, Imaya Rincon, and use the provided email address: imaya.rincon@pearson.com
(Pearson Support) Pearson will provide you with the metadata link to use in ClassLink.
Step Two In Pearson Connexus
(School Admin) Provide ClassLink metadata and copy Pearson Connexus metadata URL.
In your Pearson Connexus admin app:
- Open the vertical menu in the toolbar of Domain Details and select Domain Settings.

- On the Authentication card, select SAML as your authentication Type. Do not choose the "old version" of SAML.
- Select Add identity provider (IdP).

- Provide the Login prompt. This is what appears on the login button. If you have only one IdP, this defaults to Login, if you have more, you can label them appropriately.
- Upload the idp-meta XML file that you created from the ClassLink URL.
- The Metadata resource path and Provider ID are automatically populated.
- Select Done.

- Provide a Logout redirect URL if you want users to be taken to somewhere other than the PCx login screen when they sign out.
- The Share SAML configuration with subdomains option allows you to let subdomains inherit this configuration, so you don't have to configure each domain individually.
- Note: Usernames in domains that share a SAML configuration must be unique. Users with non-unique usernames cannot authenticate with single sign-on (SSO).
- Leave unchecked: Prevent users from using Pearson Connexus credentials.
Leave unchecked (if not allowing users to be created on their own): Allow users to create their own accounts.
- Right-click the Download metadata button and choose Copy the link address. This is the Pearson Connexus metadata URL you need to provide to ClassLink in step 4.
-
Note: You can also generate this URL on your own by adding your Pearson Connexus userspace to the correct place in the following
URL: https://dlap.gradpoint.com/SAML/[INSERT_USERSPACE]/metadata.xml
