Administrators, Teacher-Authors, and Teachers can add extra credit assignments to a course. Extra credit assignments can be assigned to a group or groups of students in the course.
Before creating an extra credit assignment, users should be familiar with creating assignments. For additional information, refer to Pearson Connexus Add an Assignment to a Course.
Create a New Assignment for Extra Credit
Select the Editor tool from the desired course card on the Home page.
Expand the module where the assignment is to be added and select + Add to… > Unit name.
- Select Assignment.
Create the new assignment. Once created, select the Settings tab. Note: Any assignment may be designated as extra credit as long as Enable gradebook settings and Gradable are checked.
In the Gradebook and submission section, check the box next to This activity counts as extra credit.
Within the Advanced gradebook options section, check Include this activity's score in final-grade calculation if the assignment will be included in the final grade for the course.
- Select Save.
Assign an Extra Credit Assignment to a Group
The default for all new assignments is All groups. To make an assignment available to only certain students, check the box next to This is a group assignment in the Gradebook and submission section. Select the desired group from the drop-down list, then select Save.
To create a new group for the extra credit assignment, see Creating and Managing Groups for more information on how to create groups.
