Input Types are the kinds of fields that admins can use to gather information from other users in Pearson Connexus.
Admins can specify Input type when:
- Creating Domain metadata fields
- Creating Course metadata fields
- Creating User metadata fields
- Create Activity metadata fields
- Create Question metadata fields
Depending on the nature of the information you want to gather, you can choose from a selection of the following Input types:
- True/false (Boolean) provides content authors with a checkbox, so they can make basic "on/off" or "true/false" choices.

Choice provides content authors with a predefined list of alphanumeric tag options in a drop-down.
- Parameters: When selecting this type, select Add Choice to create dropdown options to populate this field. Values that don't match these choices will show an error when importing data.

Decimal number provides content authors with a range of numbers in a drop-down that can include decimals.
- Parameters: Use the Min and Max fields to create the desired number range. Values outside this range will show an error.

Integer provides content authors with a range of numbers in a dropdown without decimals.
- Parameters: Use the Min and Max fields to create the desired number range. Values outside this range will show an error.
- Plain text allows content authors to enter terms and phrases that will be made searchable. Use Placeholder text to provide instructions about what users should put in this field.
- Rich text provides content authors with a rich text editor that supports text styles and images. This content is not searchable.
