When reviewing the history of an activity in the syllabus, you may see changes made by a user only identified by the numeric value of 18130535 or 3240635, like this example:
Some tools within GradPoint use a generic user named 'gproot' with the user ID of 18130535 or 3240635. These tools include:
- Global Course Settings Tool
- Course Management
- Student Transfer (district admin only)
These tools are visible to Teacher - Authors and Administrators only. Any changes made within these tools are logged with this generic user, not the user who performs the task. If you are viewing the activity log within the syllabus, you will see this user listed for any changes made within these tools. You cannot identify the user when these tools are used, but you can see what was changed.
If you need to identify the user, one way to see who was online during that time period is to look at the login and logout times within the User Activity report to match users online to the time changes were made. If you cannot identify the person who made the changes, it is recommended to change existing passwords.
The Pearson curriculum team may also deploy changes to the master course using this user type. When you see other changes that cannot be performed by the tools in GradPoint, the changes were done at the master course level by Pearson.
