How to Enable BusyBee Study Tools for Activities

BusyBee tools are a Pearson Connexus Add-on.

Course authors can enable BusyBee study tools for supported Pearson Connexus activities to promote the learning journey.

Which BusyBee study tools can I enable for activities?

Using this setting, course authors can enable the following BusyBee study tool for activities:

• Get Help offers real-time tutoring for students.

Which activity types can BusyBee study tools be enabled for?

Get Help can be enabled for the following Activity types:

• Assessments

• Assignments

• Custom activities that use the following source content:

  • Rich text

  • Course resources

  • External website URLs (e.g., YouTube videos, LTI activities)

    • Note: BusyBee Get Help does not access content from external websites. For best results, add a Description and/or Objectives to the activity.

Enable BusyBee Study Tools for Single Activities

To enable the BusyBee tool for activities:

1. In the activity editor, select Settings.

2. Check the Allow students to use BusyBee tools box in the Activity settings card.

   • Note: This setting appears only for BusyBee-supported activities.

3. Save.

The BusyBee AI Study Tools can now be opened in the activity by selecting the sparkle icon in the toolbar.

Students can select the tool they want to use, and it opens in the side panel so they can still view and use the activity. 

Note: Get help is the only BusyBee study tool currently available. 

Enable or Disable BusyBee Study Tools for Multiple Activities at Once (Bulk Edit)

You can enable or disable the BusyBee tool for multiple activities at once using Pearson Connexus' Bulk edit tool:

1. In the course Editor, select the Activity list.

2. You can filter by item Title, Type, Location (folder), and/or whether to show only Gradable activities to access the activities and folders you want.

   • The following Type filters return activities that support BusyBee study tools: Assessment, Assignment, and Custom activity.

3. Check the boxes next to the activities you want to edit.

4. Select Bulk edit in the toolbar.

5. Check the Allow students to use BusyBee tools box.

6. Select Yes or No.

7. Check the I understand that these changes are permanent box to confirm your selection.

8. Select Update.
