Takeoff by IXL is available through Pearson Connexus kindergarten through grade 5 math courses and provides interactive practice, personalized learning, and immediate feedback.
What Is the Student Experience?
Students access Takeoff by IXL directly from their assigned Pearson Connexus K–5 Math course.
Students will:
- Log into Pearson Connexus.
- Open the assigned K–5 Math course.
- Launch Takeoff by IXL activities from course links when available.
When Will Students Receive Access?
Students have access to their Pearson Connexus course as soon as they are enrolled.Takeoff by IXL links take additional time to become available because the sync to IXL occurs overnight after students are properly enrolled in their Pearson Connexus K–5 math courses.
Required User Details: Each student’s user profile must include a unique email address and a grade level for the Pearson Connexus connection to IXL to work successfully.
Note: The email address does not need to be functional, but it must be unique within Pearson Connexus.
What to Expect for IXL access:
- Students enrolled before 10:00 PM ET: Access is typically available the next day.
- Students enrolled after 10:00 PM ET: Access may take an additional day to appear.
What Should Students Do While Waiting for IXL Access?
While waiting for IXL access, students should continue working in Pearson Connexus by completing orientation activities, reviewing course expectations, exploring available resources, and working in any other assigned courses.
Troubleshooting Access Issues
If a student cannot access IXL, confirm the following:
- Confirm that the student account is active.
- Confirm that the student is enrolled in the correct Math course with correct start and end dates.
- Confirm the student’s user details include both a unique email address and a grade level.
- Allow the required overnight sync to occur. Enrollments after 10:00 PM ET may require two overnight syncs.
- Confirm that the student is attempting to launch IXL from a link within the course, not from the IXL website.
