Chrome Extension
- Go to the Chrome Web Store link.
- Search from ChromeVox.
- Select add to Chrome. The ChromeVox icon displays in the top right.
- From Options, set the ChromeVox with your preferred voice, then set up your settings.

MICROSOFT EDGE
Read Aloud Feature on Microsoft Edge Browser
- Download and open Microsoft Edge as your internet browser.
- Open the page you would like read.
- Select the ... button in the top right corner, then select Read Aloud.
You can also press CTRL + SHIFT + U on a PC or SHIFT + Command + U on a Mac. - Use the keys located below the search bar to go back a paragraph, play, or pause a reading, and skip to the next paragraph.
SPEECH TO TEXT
- Check that your microphone works.
- Open a document in Google Docs with a Chrome Browser.
- Select Tools, then Voice. A Microphone Box displays.
- When you're ready to speak, select the microphone.
- Speak clearly, at a normal volume and pace.
- When you're done, select the microphone again.
- Review your text for errors and punctuation.
- Copy and paste the text into your course assignment.
ADDITIONAL CHROME APPS
Chrome has multiple Text to Speech extensions. To download them:
- Go to the Chrome Web Store link.
- Search for the title of the extension you want.
- Select add to chrome.
Natural Reader
- Highlight the words you want read aloud and right-click.
- Select the N icon that says Read Selection from the context menu to have the text read aloud.

- Select Speak It from the context menu to have the text read aloud.
