Vouchers are granted to individual students. Each student is allowed two complimentary practice test vouchers. Once both vouchers have been provided to the student, additional vouchers must be individually purchased from www.ged.org. In the new voucher request workflow teachers provide the student enrollment ID for the platform to verify that they have an active student account, are enrolled in a GED course, and have completed all their gradable assignments.
If the student does not meet any of the requirements, the teacher receives an alert message regarding what needs to be corrected. If the student is eligible for a voucher, the teacher is prompted to confirm the student’s identity by clicking the Get Voucher button. The teacher must copy and paste the student voucher code before exiting the screen.
If the wrong student name displays, the teacher should select Cancel to return to the initial request screen. In addition, a new GED Voucher Redemption report was added for both teachers and administrators. The teacher report is located on the same screen as voucher requests in the format of an excel spreadsheet. The report results include only student vouchers requested by that teacher. It includes the teacher domain, teacher name, and teacher ID, student name, student ID, voucher IDs (up to 2), and the date requested. It does not include whether the voucher has been used to take a test. The administrator version of the report can be found under Other Reports. The administrator can choose to include all teachers or specific teachers. The resulting data is identical to the teacher version of the report.
