Reviewing the Originality Report
The originality report generates a percentage score that reflects the percent of the work that matches other people's work. After you have submitted your work:
- The originality report for your submitted work displays.
- The report shows your submitted work along with important information. A percentage score is assigned to your submitted work. This number reflects the percent of your work that matches content found in billions of pages of Internet archives, student papers, websites, journals, and publications. A score of 0% means your work does not match any other searched content. A score of 100% means that all of your work matches other people's work and and that your work has been most likely taken from other sources.
- The Match Overview panel shows a list of sources with content that matches some portion of your submitted work.
Each listed source contains a percentage score that represents the percentage of your work matching content in the source. Select a source to jump to the portion of your work containing content that matches the source's content. Each source has a color. The matching content is highlighted in that color.
- Select view source to view more information about the source. Select Compare to view your submission alongside the source that has content matching yours.
- If you would like to revise your work to remove any content noted in the report, you must resubmit it on the CheckMyWork page. You will receive a new link to an updated Originality Report. Review the new originality report. When you are satisfied with your work, copy and paste the Originality Report URL into the final version of your work before submitting it to your teacher.
