Your teacher can make calculators, rulers, and a protractor available in assessments to help you answer certain questions. When enabled, these tools appear in your toolbar and you can click any of them to use them:
- Calculators
- Protractor
- Rulers

How to use calculators in Pearson Connexus
When you open the calculator tool in Pearson Connexus, you may see a Mode dropdown. This means your teacher has made multiple types of calculators available, and you should choose the one that's right for you.
You can click the numbers on the calculator with your mouse, or click into the number field and use your keyboard.

How to use the protractor in Pearson Connexus
To use the protractor in Pearson Connexus:
- Click the Protractor button.
- Position the protractor where you want it.
- To move: Click the protractor with your mouse and drag it to where you want it. You can also use the arrows on your keyboard move the protractor.
- To rotate: Simultaneously, hold the shift key and click and drag the protractor with your mouse to rotate it. You can also hold shift and use the arrows on your keyboard to rotate the protractor.
- Click the Protractor button again to hide it.

How to use rulers in Pearson Connexus
- Click the Ruler button. If your teacher has made multiple rulers available, choose the one you need.
- Position the ruler where you want it.
- To move: Click the ruler with your mouse and drag it to where you want it. You can also use the arrows on your keyboard move the ruler.
- To rotate: Simultaneously, hold the shift key and click and drag the ruler with your mouse to rotate it. You can also hold shift and use the arrows on your keyboard to rotate the ruler.
- Click the Ruler button again to hide it.
